Past Imperfect
Past Imperfect is an Anglo-French band. Original music with influences from across the ages.
An embryonic Past Imperfect 3-song EP (on Spotify) with Alan Thomson on bass (ex-John Martyn, Julia Fordham, Martin Barre).
The band recorded a 6-song cycle at Real World Studios in Bath. (Written by Paul Quarterman and Giles Farley. Produced and mixed by Hugo Nicolson – Co-Producer of Primal Scream, Radiohead). Released in early 2024.
There is a new song cycle in development, with recording planned for Winter 2024.
The band played a first tour of France and UK in July and August 2024. With plans for a summer 2024 tour with gigs in France and UK.

Paul Quarterman is a seasoned singer, guitarist, and songwriter. He was previously singer and songwriter with Littleblood, recording two albums of well-received original material. Since early days of fronting heavy metal bands, he has developed into a versatile singer-songwriter with influences ranging from Blue Nile, to Peter Gabriel and Scott Walker.
Paul, along with Giles Farley is the principle songwriter for Past Imperfect.
Serge "Sergio" Gelli is a renowned rock guitarist on the Parisian and French scene, having worked with Stéphane Mondino, Thomas Verovski, Solveig, Frankeur, Two The West and The Jack Art Band, among others.
Jean-Philippe Bottier is a seasoned bassist whose varied background means he's equally at home in rock, jazz rock and progressive rock. He has played at the lower end of the sound spectrum with bands including: Asia Minor, R'n'F, Anagram, Como Sa Pelle, Juste 1 Frein... He is the long-time rhythmic partner of “The Mountain Drummer”.
François Floquet, “The Mountain Drummer”, has enjoyed a long musical career with many artists and bands in France including Sarah, Le Facteur Cheval, R'n'F... His musical influences range from rock to progressive rock (Zappa, Genesis, Yes...).
